NJHIMA QUARTERLY MEETING: APRIL 1, 2023 ICD10CM/PCS CHANGES
Robert Perez, MSA, RHIA, FAHIMA It is with a heavy heart that our NJHIMA family shares the loss of Mr. Robert Perez, MSA, RHIA, FAHIMA. Robert Perez was a dedicated health information professional – serving in several leadership roles during his career as Director of HIM, Program Director / Professor for DeVry and promoting lifelong continuing education within our profession. Within NJHIMA, he served on the Board and chaired the Education Committee. He has mentored countless emerging HIM professionals throughout his career – providing guidance and encouragement to achieve HI excellence. He achieved AHIMA Fellowship status and motivated others to seek out fellowship as well. Professional accomplishments aside, Robert made the world a better place through his compassion and zeal for life – which he readily shared with friends and colleagues by way of his smile, volunteer activities, and his compassion. Robert was a leader, friend, motivator, and role model for so many and will be missed.
